About

The Neuroscience Association for Postgrads (NAP) at the University of Queensland is the primary departmental student society for higher degree research (HDR) and postgraduate students within the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) and related neuroscience fields.

“NAP makes QBI feel like more than just a world-class research institute—it makes it feel like a community. From the Friday socials to the student symposium, they provide the social and professional support that keeps us going through the ups and downs of a PhD.”

Research in neuroscience can be incredibly demanding and niche. NAP exists to ensure that PhD and MPhil students don’t spend their entire degree isolated in a windowless microscopy room or a wet lab.

Bursaries

APS bursaries provide financial support for conference travel and placements.

Rent Relief

Support available for postgrads doing it tough. One-time payment covering up to 1 week of rent (max $350).

Club Funding

APS offers funding of up to $1,000 to support initiatives led by UQ clubs.

Academic Editing

Academic editing for HDR students, supporting theses, articles, and proposals to meet scholarly standards.

HDR Coffee Catch-Ups

Monthly drink and finger food from Patina at Alumni Court. A relaxed environment to share ideas and chat about research.
