Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge that participation in this event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical exertion, injury, illness, property damage, or other unforeseen incidents. I voluntarily accept and assume all such risks.
I confirm that I am physically and medically fit to participate and have not been advised by a medical professional to refrain from doing so.
Compliance with UQ and APS Policies
I agree to:
- Comply with all applicable University of Queensland policies and procedures;
- Comply with the University of Queensland and APS Code of Conduct;
- Follow all reasonable directions given by APS representatives;
- Refrain from the use of illicit substances at the event or during APS-related activities;
- Accept responsibility for any breach of these obligations.
Release and Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, I release APS, its officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from liability for any personal injury, loss, or damage arising out of or in connection with my participation in the event, including travel to and from the event. Nothing in this waiver excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies I may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable legislation.
Indemnity
I agree to indemnify APS against any claim, demand, loss, or expense arising from my participation in the event to the extent caused or contributed to by my act or omission.
Equipment
Where equipment is provided, I agree to use it responsibly and in accordance with instructions. APS is not liable for injury or damage resulting from misuse of equipment, except as required by law.
Photography
I consent to APS taking photographs or video recordings during the event and using them for promotional, reporting, or organisational purposes.
Governing Law
This waiver is governed by the laws of Queensland.
Acknowledgment
I confirm that I have read and understood this waiver and agree to be bound by its terms.
