Assumption of Risk
I, the participant, acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with participating in this event, including but not limited to physical exertion, potential injuries, or unforeseen incidents. I certify that I am physically fit and have not been advised otherwise by a medical professional.
Compliance with UQ Policies
By signing this waiver, I agree to:
Adhere to the University of Queensland’s policies and procedures at all times;
Follow the University of Queensland’s Code of Conduct;
Refrain from the use of illicit substances at the event or during any APS-related activities;
Accept full responsibility for any breaches of these policies.
Release of Liability
I acknowledge that:
APS and its agents are not responsible for any injuries, losses, or damages I may suffer as a result of my participation;
APS will not be liable for any medical conditions or impairments I fail to disclose prior to the event;
I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation and travel to and from the event.
Indemnity
I indemnify APS against any claims, damages, or costs arising from my participation, except where APS is proven to have acted recklessly.
Use of Equipment
Where APS provides equipment for activities, I agree that APS is not liable for any injury or damage resulting from my use or misuse of such equipment, except in cases of statutory breach under the Australian Consumer Law.
Consent to Photography
I consent to APS taking and using photographs of me during activities for promotional and organisational purposes.
Governing Law
This waiver is governed by the laws of Queensland. Any disputes will be resolved under Queensland jurisdiction.
Acknowledgment
By signing, I confirm that:
I have read and understood this waiver;
I voluntarily agree to its terms;
I release APS from any claims arising from my participation.
