UQ Business School Postgraduate Association (UQ BSPA) UQ BSPA is an official social and industry network for postgraduate students within the UQ Business School which aims to establish close relationships amongst postgraduate students, organise career-related and networking events for the student members and to develop networking opportunities with industry professionals, UQ Business School and UQ Alumni Association. UQ BSPA is an official industry networking and social organisation for postgraduate students within the UQ Business School, aiming to build strong relationships between top masters students and the industry, by encouraging networking among members in order to enhance their university experience. The UQ BSPA membership base is comprised of students from culturally diverse backgrounds, bringing with them a range of experiences and unique skills. Moreover, by studying business-related degrees, our members specialise in various disciplines such as Accounting, Advertising, Tourism, Hospitality, Event, Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Information Systems, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Social Impact and Sustainability among others. To enhance our members’ university experience, a wide range of social events are organised to facilitate the establishment of close relationships amongst postgraduate students. In addition to that, UQ BSPA also provides its members with a great number of career-related events to develop networking opportunities with industry professionals, UQ Business School and UQ Business School Alumni Association. Each semester, the association engages with more than 300 top Masters students, interested in connecting with industry professionals and firms. Along the course of these social and professional events, UQ BSPA executives and ambassadors are becoming trusted advisors to the members of the club. Not only does this connection facilitate the integration of the members into the university life, but it can also enhance the quality of the relationship UQ Business School can develop with its students. This means that the role of UQ BSPA executives and ambassadors as advisors can serve as an additional connection between the UQ Business School and the students, owing to the club’s closeness to its members.
- QAAFI Student Association | UQ APS Inc.
QAAFI Student Association (QSA) QSA is the student association for the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI), a UQ research institute supported by the Queensland Government and a global leader in agriculture and food science research in subtropical and tropical production systems. The QAAFI Student Association was created to connect and support all QAAFI students based across different campuses and to enrich their social, academic and professional experience while undertaking a research degree. The QAAFI Student Association (QSA) mission is to establish a community of support for both domestic and international students undertaking research projects at all levels across the four research centres within QAAFI: Animal, Horticultural, Crop, and Nutrition and Food Sciences. As an organised student society we advocate for the continuous improvement of the student’s research experience and provide advice regarding student matters. With more than 100 students distributed across different UQ campuses and different geographic locations we aim to create a sense of community and inclusion especially for those undertaking remote postgraduate studies. We also are strong advocates for having a balanced social/work life and mental health. Hence, we will be continuously organising social gatherings, sport activities and engagement activities that not only enrich our networking skills but also that can potentiate our career opportunities as part of an important agricultural and food science research institute.
