Club Funding Form The APS Club Funding Program offers financial support to UQ postgraduate clubs accredited by APS, empowering postgraduates to achieve their goals while enriching their academic experience and contributing to the broader university community. ​ ​ Eligibility: Only clubs formally accredited by APS will be eligible to apply for funding under this program . Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI) Jackals The JKMRC Jackals is the postgraduate student association of The University of Queensland's (UQ) Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI), one of the world’s leading research institutes dedicated to providing solutions for the global minerals industry. Originally founded over 30 years ago by a group of passionate postgraduate students and alumni from the Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (JKMRC), the Jackals have since evolved to become a vibrant and inclusive community that now welcomes members from all six of SMI's research centres: JKMRC, WH Bryan Mining and Geology Research Centre (BRC), Centre for Water in the Minerals Industry (CWiMI), Centre for Mined Land Rehabilitation (CMLR), Minerals Industry Safety and Health Centre (MISHC), and the Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining (CSRM). The Jackals provide a collaborative platform for postgraduate students to foster academic, social, and professional connections.
